Just goes click. Happened in the past. At times if you would hold the key or a moment, it would turn over.

x2 for BrooklynBay's Comments.

If your battery is ok, try tapping the starter with a hammer while a friend turns the key. If it turns over, replace the starter.

Pull starter and test it, if it is bad you all ready have it out and at the store to buy another one
good luck

Sounds like a battery issue.

Good luck in resolving the issue.

Check the cables, and the cable connection to the starter. It doesn't take too long to undo the nut, clean the cable contacts, and reassemble. BTDT, and it usually fixes all sorts of problems for me.

Worn contacts inside the starter might be a possible problem :dunno:

Not sure if they are easily replaced as in my Paseo :dunno:

I just had that problem last week. The wife called me while she was out shopping and said it wouldn't start. I got there and all I heard was the relay engaging in the relay box. Windows went up and down normal so I figured the battery had juice. I took a hammer and lightly tapped on the starter as she had the ignition all the way to start and she fired right up. So she took my truck home and I drove straight to Autozone (left truck running!) and got a new starter. Drove home and replaced it. The bearings were shot on the starter. I ended up replacing the battery as well, so she is good to go.

my starter failed because the outside brush wire completely corroded away. I coated the new exposed wire with brake grease, looks like new 4 years later.
