2000 Explorer
Hello, i just recently made my way to these forums because im having some trouble out of my 2000 explorer. I been searching through the posts and although some people have similar problems none are exactly the same as mine. So with that being said let me fill you in and please advise me on what to do.
Ok, the explorer starts up fine no prob, it even revs up just fine in park and neutral, BUT when i shift into reverse and/or drive and hit the gas it starts to sputter and shake and the more gas i give it the worse it gets until it eventually just cuts off. I tryed some different things posted here on the forums and with no luck. So i resorted to taking it to a local mechanic, who put in a new fuse and that seemed to work. It ran smooth for 3 days and then all of a sudden started sputtering and stalling again today.
A buddy said it might have something to do with the fuel filter or pump?? Please let me know what you think it could be i really need to get this fixed asap

If it is fuel system related try replacing the fuel filter. Does the check engine light come on? If so read the codes.

maybe the tps? hopefully your check engine light is on, that would make diagnosing a lot easier. I am not sure how a fuse could affect this, do you know which fuse it was?

Yea the check engine light is on but i dont think i could make it to autozone to get the numbers checked :(
And about the fuse i was wondering the same thing, im going back to the shop today to find out exactly what the mechanic replaced

a couple of fuses will make the thing undrivable because they take out a couple of the key control systems so you need to check all your fuses and / or find out which one they previously replaced. Ultimately, you probably need to find out why its blowing if indeed its the same one.

good news, i took it back to the shop and found out it was a faulty o2 sensor, so now after replacing it and the other blown fuse we are good to go. the check engine light is finally off too!! thanks for the help
