:usa:trying to figure out what steering everyone is running
just put in a 5.5 super lift and as we all know twin I beam lifted blows ass
ordered dual steering stabilizers. is anything else out there that I can do to help with all that bump steer.? this isn't my first rodeo I have lifted many twin ibeam vehicles for customers but this is the first one I do for myself and plan on keeping. plans are to straight axle it but that's not going to happen for a while so just want something to make it more manageable for when we drive it to the trail.

^^^^ Ditto....what do you have for pitman arm? I originally went with a ProComp arm that said it was good for a 4-6" lift....it's good for maybe 2". Got the Skyjacker arm, and haven't had ANY bumpsteer since...yeah it sucks because the arm is $200, but it's worth every penny.

I'm actually considering not thinking about a SAS anymore, I like it that much...sure it needs a little more work to be better, but that's what I like about it lol :D

got the pitman arm from super lift with the kit
is the skyjacker one longer??

From what I've read and understood, the arm that comes with the kit is only good for 4" of drop (not sure why they wouldn't make something longer and include it)...

I'd call 4WheelParts or another good 4x specialist/parts dealer and confirm the SkyJacker arm is longer before purchasing, but in my opinion, I'd just get it.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Why would they do this and not even motion it. Wow
But makes sense since the kit is also good for 4 in set up

Well. I just measured the pitman Arm I have and sure as **** it's only a 4in drop.
I was wondering why it looked so small but it never crossed my mind that super lift would do this without at least making it an option to get the longer arm. But it's ordered thanks guys for the quick response.

Yep.

Forgot to mention it earlier, but ProComp also has a 6" drop arm (FD600), but it WILL NOT fit the first gens, only the second gens. Make sure you get the SkyJacker arm...SkyJacker is the only way to go for our first gen Explorers with more than 4" of lift (unfortunately...)

And I have no idea why Superlift does that.....we should probably talk to them about putting a longer pitman in with the kit haha!

Yup.. i use the superlift pitman and i need to order det one from Skyjacker...
:thumbdwn:

Yeah I saw the pro comp one but stuck with the skyjacker. Should be here tomorrow will install it tomorrow and get it aligned same day. We will see how it turns out
Read on pirates 4x4 that guys had problems with the tie rods hitting or binding with this arm but I think they were all on 4 inches on lift not 5.5
