Hi

Yesterday i was replacing my auto hubs for Warn manual hubs and also checked all the bearings and etc.

When i took my driver side rotor off i noticed that my steering knuckle is missing a bottom stud.

I stole this pic from http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218254 :

And the bottom stud is broken

Is this dangerous somehow or can i live without worrying about buying a new knuckle?

Best,

Marek

Those are the studs that hold on the spindle. I don't know if you can actually find replacement ones but I personally would fix it soon as your wheel bearings etc are on the spindle that is held on with those bolts.. If you can't find studs, replacing the knuckles is the only choice I see.

I doubt you just broke it though.. I'm guessing whoever owned your X before broke it and you have been driving without it for quite a while..

I also believe that the previous owner broke it or some mechanic, who never told me.

i'm going to check the junkyard, maybe i can get a replacement knuckle
