steering shaft extension?

95 explorer xlt, 4wd... Is there a write-up for a DIY steering shaft extension? I already have the 3" lift blocks (cost $3/ea on there own) i am ging to makee my own bumper brackets, i just dont know about the steering shaft extension. I do have a welder.

I have done an "extension" before but all i had to do on the vehicle was cut the bar and i put a 2" connector in there to actually extend it.

I beleive 410Fortune extended his OEM steering shaft.
did a quick search, but can't seem to find that particular thread; may have been one of his build-up threads?
