I just replaced my passenger side front hub lastnite and now when I make left turns i get a vibration or a shudder in the steering and it can be felt in the steering wheel also, but it's only when i make left turns. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? or did i mess up something while installing the hub? I know the cv shaft moved alittle bit I dont know if that could be it.

I drive a 95 explorer sport with a v6.

Thank you very much.

I have worked on cars before but I don't know much about the 4 wheel drive stuff unfortunately.:exp:

It actually also does it when the car is parked and the engine running when I turn the steering wheel from side to side it vibrates and shudder really bad. Anyone know what could have caused this?

Just a guess, but could there be air trapped in the Power Sterring system? Try opening cap to PS fluid reservoir and turning wheel back and forth a few times while parked and running to purge air out. Just a guess on my part. I have never had this happen but I have read on here that others have.

Definitely air in ps system. There is a special tool to bleed the air out but you can try this. Turn the wheel with it running all the way to left and hold on the lock and then shut the car off and let it sit for like 15 minutes. You will see the air bubbles come up the fluid in the reservoir.

I will try that thank u for your input! I m just curious to see how air may have gotten in there. I never disconnected the ps lines. I will do that tonite and see if that helps

Thank u

I just tried bleeding the air out and it totally worked. WHen I was Doing the hub. I had car lifted on one side and decided it would be easier to turn the wheel to get better access to the hub bolts... I m guessing since the car was tilted and having done that it may have caused some air bubbles since all the fluid went to one side. That's the only reason I could come up w....anywho the problem is fixed now. Thank u for u guys input helped me out alot!

Anytime you turn the wheels with engine off it will create air in ps system and give you that concern. Usually when this happens and you get to highway speeds and hit a bump the steering wheel will shake violently and scare the s--t out of you.

Sweet! I m glad I learned something today Thank u very much!
