Does any have problems with their steering wheel cover coming apart? I think that this is a common problem because my 95 mustang did the same thing before I sold it. I want to buy a replacement cover for it but don't want it to look cheap. Do I take the old one off or do replacements go over it?

Also, finally took my 97 AWD offroad and it did better then I expected. Only once did I wish that I had low range. With all the rain that GA has had it made it a lot of fun.

i know they sell leather steering wheel covers that you actually have to sew onto the steering wheel. Real leather, comes with needle and waxed thread. Nice feel, good quality....it's matt black in colour, not like the shiny crap on the stock wheels. Not too pricey either. You can find them at your local Pep Boys etc.

Here's mine with a Pep Boys wheel cover like PLRBEAR was talking about.

If you get one, make sure you get one for a wheel with an air bag. The regular cover will not work since the steering wheel is fatter in an air bag equipped vehicle. I think I paid around $15 for mine.

Yah, but that's $35!!

I dont like the looks of the sew-on covers, especially since the wheel in my Limited is grey like the rest of the interior instead of black like other Explorers. I had my rim totally replaced with a new one, think it cost me $150 installed. A little steep but the results are factory perfect.
