stereo size

On my 01 eddie bauer, it appears to be a 2-din size stereo. I have seen some 2-dins that i would be interested in but do they make a kit that would make them work or is our stereo slightly smaller than 2-din but bigger than 1.5 din. Thanks

I thought it was 1.5 DIN to be honest. My mom's Chrysler has a definite 2 DIN, and it seems to be bigger than ours by a lot. But you might be right and its slightly over 1.5 DIN

Crutchfield has a kit that makes 2 DIN work I believe, I looked at some 2 DINs and it said adaptor required, so I assume that means they carry one. If not the 1 DIN units with a pocket above the, isnt THAT bad...

With as many Fords as there are running around I'm surprised nobody makes an aftermarket head unit that doesn't need an adaptor. All Fords use the same size, and possibly even the same units. Well, I think they do.
