Electrical and Audio are two fields I know nothing about. I have a 1991 Explorer XLT and my father has a 1993 Explorer XLT. My fathers has the factory CD Player from 1993, and mine has a factory Cassette from 1991, however from what I have seen, Ford may have only used my Cassette deck in 1991. It has the funky rocker volume knob on it. Will the 1993 factory CD swap easily with the 1991 factory Cassette without a major wiring modification? Help would be appreciated.

30 minutes and you could find out for yourself. Try pulling them out and see if the connectors match up.

Pulling the stereo is easy IF you know the secret and get the right tool. Find 4 pieces of steel rod about 3 inches long having a diameter of about 1/8 inch. Insert these into the four holes located near the corners of the unit. This releases the four latches which hold the radio in. Make sure they are all the way in. Jiggle the radio slightly and it should come right out the front.

When your done, come back and tell us the answer. Good luck.
