My explorer Just would not start one day.
ive checked fuel to the rail= 30-40psi
ive checked the injector signal with noid light= Ok
im on to checking the ignition

I check the spark at the plug end of the wire and i get an intermitent spark (not once per shaft rotation at least) the spark tester i have can be adjusted ( i think its also for CD ignitions smaller spark) well the spark is only bright and steady when its adjusted down the the 20-SE (the adjustment runs the needle away from the base 20-30 is 1-1.5inch's away 30-40 is almost 3 inch's)
Is this OK? next i checked the coil Pri- and Sec. Pri=.5ohms and Sec=14.5kohms a little out of spec according to manual but ok according to others

next was the ICM teset 12v at pin8 Bat+ = ok
then check for ground= ok
next resistance between 5 and 6 for the CPS
so on to the Crank Position sensor the
it only read 600 ohms not the 2000-300 in the book
I next checked the output pulse for the sensor it did show about a 0.4 volts AC pulse it seamed with my digital meter. Might the sensor only giving 600 ohms and not 2000-3000ohms be my problem??

I dont know i also checked the TPS it has 5v going to the reference pin (1) but ZERO coming out of the signal pin (3)

Any Ideas

Thanks in advance I KNOW GREAT MINDS ARE AT WORK HERE!!!

sounds like a bad crankshaft position sensor

does any one know what the spec's are for the Voltage spike your supposed to get when testing the CPS?

Update:
Changed Crank sensor= new sensor was still 600 ohms and didn't work

took out ignition control module and check at autozone 3 times = OK

I even tried to fire off an injector by hot wiring it up and tapping 12v leads but still the engine would not start.

Ive checked every thing in the chiltons guide and done evry test ,bought EvERY special tool to test with and still noting , I CANt imagine all 6 injectors malfuntioning at once?

Any one fix something like this before??

welll the injectors only run off of 5v so you may have fried them

hmm 5v huh?
thats funny cause the two leads running to the injectors both feed the injector 12v+ and the injectors fire when one of those legs switches to ground
what sense would it make to have the injectors being supplied 12v constant when key is on if they only use 5v?

the injectors fire when one of those legs switches to ground

what good would applying 12 volts to them do then
