Ok. My 97 Explorer XLT was behaving very nicely until one day, I had to jumpstart it because the starter would not make any noise when I turned the key. The battery was fine, I know this because we had to bridge the gap between the two bolts on the starter relay to get the thing started. I talked to a guy at Advance and he said to get a starter ignition switch, I did, and I put it in. Still no sound from the starter, still had to bridge the gap between the two bolts. I replaced the starter relay (the fender mounted one) because that was what the guy at Advance suspected next. Still no noise, still have to bridge the gap. I am completely baffled as to what could be going on or what to do next. I'm thinking it may be the clutch pedal switch, because I have had to push the clutch in harder than I should lately to start it. Please help, I would very much so appreciate it.
