stock 97e.b. jbl vs. 01 e.b. audio?

What is the difference between the audio systems in the 97 and 01 eddie bauer. I just got a 97 eb with the factory jbl audio but the 01 eb i used to have sounded much better

to be more specific, can I just change the rear sub and it sound as good as the newer ones or is it a weaker amp?

It depends if the system is the same. In the '96 there are 2 different amps, 1 for the speakers and 1 for the sub. The sub amp is on the same mounting frame as the sub box.

Other than that, I couldn't tell you.
