I was riding in my X and I realized there is some distortion witht the speakers, which leads me to believe it might have something to do with the lame stock amp, which lead me to post this message. Although I have seen this question asked many times, i wass wondering if someone could help me with this. How can I know if the AMP is out or bypassed? WHere is it located? Can i just break it? I know they have bypass kits, but wouldnt it be better if removed? I mean i wouldnt leave a tumor just chillin in my brain even if it wasnt malignant. right... any help would be chill, thanks.

since you have a 2001, the factory full range amp is in the headunit. so it doesnt have to be bypassed.
maybe your crossovers are set wrong, or your gains are set too high.

intresting, thanks , ill have to check it out then
