Stock anti-theft and aftermarket sub/amp

Interesting find here.
One day, I was showing a friend the type of RCA connectors that I used for my sub. Some doors were open, the key was not in the ignition. When I pulled the RCA's out of the jacks on my sub box, the stock alarm sounded!

Is this normal?
 












It probably is looking for a voltage drop somewhere in the electrical system, similar to if someone was to cut a bunch of wires trying to disable it.

With the plugs out there's no electrical loop, but that's still weird.
 






So are you saying that the factory anti-theft system monitors the patch signal coming off the deck?

I just realized I called the connectors above RCA lines....silly me!
They are bannana posts....speaker wire obviously!
