guys, I'm sorry to bother you with something I should have been able to find without posting but I have tried everything but calling the ford dealership to find out what my gears are but they are closed right now I have a 97 XLT 4x4 and if anybody could tell me what they are that would be great. My tranny is acting up and when it blows up soon I want to get 4.10's. Thanks in advance!

You need to look on the sticker inside the drivers door jamb..... There is a code....

Then search here b/c there is a thread with what the code stands for....

Or you could just look at the orginal window sticker and it says it on there.... I have 3.73LS gears.... you either have 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10(usually came with the tow package)
