Stock headlights and HIDs

You guys are really hating on the HID's here. I agree that any conversion kit is not DOT approved and there by illegal. This is simply because if done wrong it can be a safety issue as so clearly pointed out multiple times in this thread. This does not mean that HID in itself it horrible. They are brighter period, I also have an 98 s-10 with siverstar lights (really nice bulbs) adjusted right I still get flashed thats just what you will deal with when you have stock headlamps and really bright lights. Now my 98 explorer has after market projector headlamps with a HID conversion kit, the projectors have a metal shade inside that creates a very defined cut off line, super bright blinds no one. Point here is don't hate on the the bulbs hate the people that don't take the time to do it right. Old school cats light there old candle light bulbs we don't hate on you unless you have it aimed high and to the left why cant you guys do the same. (Sum'd up, Yes illegal but not because they are all bad but because it is to hard to ensure all conversions are performed correctly to ensure other drivers safety.)

I guess that I should say however that I don't think putting the HID bulbs in stock lamps would be all that great. Yes it would be bright and for you great (off roading would be killer) but for street use you would have to aim those things so low to keep from blinding people it would be a waste.

HID lights = Awesome:D
