About two weeks ago I finally removed almost all of the stock JBL stuff out of my Mounty. I'll tell you what it ain't that fun. Once you remove the rear panel you have to remove all of the passenger side door sill trim and kick panel. Then theres a channel with a snap cover on it that all the stereo wires are run in. Behind the kick panel the wires terminate into some connectors. Them connectors have wires that it looks like you have to take the dash out to remove. I ended up leaving them there. I then removed the center counsole to take the cd changer out. I removed all of the door speakers and ran new speaker wires from the dash to the doors using the channels that the factory wires ran in. I also ran new rca's the same way to the back. I installed Pioneer 3-way 6x8s in the front doors and Pioneer 2-way 6x8s in the rear doors. I put a Pioneer head unit in using a dash install kit I had from a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix(only minor modification needed) that i had on hand. I'm never taking the unit out so I hard wired it(future owner-if any-might hate me for this) using the factory power and grounds. I couldn't figure out how to get the power antenna up so I replaced it with a non-powered unit even after I went and bought the adapter. Hated having an extra 20 ft. of wire behind my dash anyway. Turned it on and it sounded 1000 times better then stock even without the sub. To anybody attempting this I suggest that you take your time and don't rush. It ain't that hard just time consumming. The end result is worth it in my opinion.
