your goin to have to get a head unit i think... to get the pre-amp hook ups...

plus... just by adding a headunit will make a pretty good difference in your system... i noticed a huge difference !!!! then i upgraded my speakers, and it sound a little bit better than just the HU.

wow thats for the answer bro .
well i guess i will have to change it but not for a while
i feel good with the stock radio and speakers they thumb hard
but if i ever do change it i think i will go with a screen navigator slash cd player i think i will cover up the hole the stock radio will leave.

you can use your stock radio IF you plan on using an amp with your sub, any good radio shop can sell/install what you need (adapter). I use my stock head unit so it's less attractive to thieves but my aftermarket subs and speakers sound great with stock head unit.

can you give me more info about the adapter
i do have a amp and 2 12's
and like you thats the main reson why i would like
to keep the stock radio less atractive to thieves and sounds great.

Post in the audio section of the forum, you'd get better results. But im almost positive you'll need an amp & headunit.

No need to make a new thread one of the mods can move it for him, I think...

I upgraded my HU to a 07+ one with MP3 capabilities (too many thieves, as rob said...), bought a HI-LO converter from Crutchfield (you can get it at walmart, I've seen them in my local ones) it is a Schosche, from your harness you'll need to cut the speaker wires and connect those to the converter, that'll give you RCA outs, from those you can connect your amp+subs as usual, check out my system:

BTW I later upgraded the rear speakers with some MA audio 5x7's and added a Kicker sub:

yes i have seen it in walmart
i will check and see if there is one with only 2 rca
because my amp only has two rca imputs.
thanks a lot you have been great help

I did this mod on mine for the same reason as above, to deter theives, and it works great, you can always get the one with two sets of preouts so if you want to add an amp or an aftermarket item such as a satellite radio or such all you will have to do is plug it in.

Danny, this item is for 1-2 outputs, not inputs, so he can pretty much only use it for amp, crossover or eq

I have a stock radio and wired up 2 12's and an amp. All you need is to get the RCA convertor and I hooked mine up using the speaker wires in the side plastic pilar between the front seat and rear seat.

yes i do have 2 12's aswell
but the thing is i dont know were to connect the
converter and dose my car have a factory amp?
im thinking of going to best buy to see if they can istall it
them selfs if i cant do it

Just go off one of the speaker wires thats all. You can pull a door panel off and splice into a speaker, really not a big deal. It works great for me..
