My stock cd player in a 94 explorer stoped working. All it says is "BAD" The clock does not work and i cant even eject the cd that i was playing. Does anyone know whats wrong. I would appreciate it if you will give me some suggestions. Thanks

Welcome to the site Brian, I'm gonna toss this on over to the Audio gurus in the Audio forum.

Hope they can help. I had some trouble with the CD Changer in my 97 saying "BAD CD" and it turned out the laser lens in the changer was bad, and they just swapped it out for me. I dont know what they'd do if that was the case with your single slot. Might be a good opportunity to just replace the head unit or something to that effect.

Good luck!

to be honest I'm suprised it has lasted as long as it has... I've seen people before with cars as new as 99 that have had their HUs crap out on them.. you could either take it to the ford place and spend probablly $300 for a new stock HU, or get yourself a very nice aftermarket HU for that price.. I doubt you could find someone that would actually attempt to repair it.. at least, thats the way my dealership is.

btw, welcome to the site
