Will 33's fit the stock wheel on a 91 4x4?

yes, but it would be much better with a wider rim (33x12.5 right?)

I dunno about 12.50s - depends on what wheels you are using. If you are using a 8 inch wheel then sure, but a 10 inch wheel will be pushing it.

That doesn't make sense. 8 inch wide rim will work fine, 10 inch wide rim will work just as well or better. Stock rims are 7 inches wide and are not reccommended for that tire and tire places might not even mount 12.5s on it, however that's not to say it can't be done, there are several members that do run stock rims with 33x12.5s and it works for them.

This has been discussed all over this forum. The 10" wheels will cause for the tire to rub on the inside fender well somewhere (I believe it was the frame). I am not that familiar with the 1st gens, but I'm pretty sure you will run into a problem with a 12.50 on a 10" wheel without a lift. Also, a tire place WILL NOT mount a 12.50 on a 7 inch wheel. I don't even think they will mount a 10.50 on a 7" wheel. Just do a search and you'll find tons of information on the 1st gens and the 10" wheel problem/issues. Just repeating what I've heard people run into with a 10" wheel.

places will mount up to an 11.50 on a 7'' wide wheel and not have any real safety concerns. Now a 12.5 on a 7'' wide wheel is possible, but really not reccomended because of how easy it would be to pop the bead. Now that covers tires sized to wheel width issues. Now for size under an explorer you dont want to wide because of the potential for rubbing. So you buy you some lowering springs and some 18's and your set ;)

I just read your other thread and said you work at U-Wrench-IT. Dude I am ther elike at least once a week. What do you do there? You need to keep me updated when a 95+ explorer comes in there!

Some 91's have 6" wheels  Are they steel or Alloy rims?

alloy

They are alloy wheels. I gave the wrong size tire also. I should have put down 31's. As that is what will go on for now and 33's later when i get the lift done.
