So Hotweels and I hook up last weekend and redo the intake manifold gaskets on my truck. We decide to go for a run at a local mud hole just for the heck of it, make sure that my truck is running ok.

Dan and tow straps
Pretty late when we got me out!!!
We get there, we're drivin around, the ground seems to be OK. Did I mention I've never offroaded before? That's worth mentioning. Dan says "you gonna drive around in that" I say "you sure I can make it through that" he says "ya sure, and if not I've got 50ft of tow strap". Ok so I start driving into this muck and a truck with much larger tires than I had gone in before and left some deep ruts. So I stay ontop of the ground that he pushed up. Slip, slop bang fall into his ruts. Grounded, just spittin water no traction at all. Dan hook up his tow straps and tries to pull me out. He sinks instantly, now he's sitting on his diffs as well. So while he's jackin his truck up, me, his wife(girlfriend?) and her mom are out grabbin boards, rocks, floor mats, just whatever we can find to throw under his wheels and lift him up. Fastforward two hours later we get his truck out. Go buy another 60ft of tow strap and splice it together. Finally we hook everything together and besides breaking the strap once, we get me pulled out. I'm being towed out through the same line as he was so I go over all the boards and rocks that we through under his truck. Crash bang snap, hmmm tranny and driveshaft still work so we must be ok. All in all it took about 5 hours to get out of that predicament. Next day I look underneath and there's some 2x8 and 2x4 chunks of wood wedged between crossmember and oil pan and frame and skid plate. I'll post pics of that once i figure out a way to pull them out and straigten the crossmember.
Now I know why guys run bigger tires and lift thier trucks!
Thanks to Dan for staying there and pulling me out, did I mention he had his 3 week old son with him?
