So we have this problem of mice chewing wires and such in the engine compartment when the hoods are closed, and it is a pain to put the hood up all the time. I do have cats, lazy ones it seems. And it isn't rightaway they come in, leave it a couple of days and rat droppings on the top of the motor. Anybody have a remedy for this, anything? I tought of peeing on the motor to mark my territory :)

Leave out a small dish of Portland cement mixed with sugar and a dish of water. They will eat the cement/sugar, then drink the water. Without going into detail, you can figure out what happens next.

Last year I opened my living room door to the garage and saw a mouse run up and over my Mustang on the car cover. Out to the garage went two cats and a beagle dog to earn their keep....lol

we had a serious issue with rats in the basement, when they entered the main house I declared WAR. I bought T-Rex traps online. they are cheap clean and never fail. so far the count is Ratatullie -0 Zukman-15

15 rats??? Where do you live???

Yikes! Holy RatTraps, Zukman!!!

and to think i get angry with just 1 fruit fly in my condo. ;)

I guess just buying traps, a whole crap load of traps might be the answer. I tried setting cat food against the bank by the car with a light on it and sit back with a .22 and wait. The mother-in-law freaked out. It's good entertainment though. Thanks for the advice.

Try putting moth balls in the toe of a pair of panty hose and tie it somewhere under the hood. Normally you can find a nice spot around the battery tray somewhere. I have had quite a few customers come into the shop with the same issue multiple times. After they try this trick they usually don't have this problem again! Don't remember where I learned this one but it works!
