hedgehog,
if you have a scanner or have ford do it. capture the A/C PID while your are driving to see if the compressor is turning off on light accel. it should turn off momentarily on WOT.
do you still hear the blower motor??
you can check for ground at the PCM Pin#14 Wh/Bn wire during light accel (when your A/C is cutting out) if you have ground and no A/C check at the A/C compressor relay for ground at pin #2 same color wire. if you don't have ground then the PCM is cutting it off for some reason.
Thanks for the tip Mr Jones,
Yes, the blower motor still runs and I can detect no change with the system apart from the change in the temp and humidity of the air.
One thing though, mine does this at any throttle setting when pulling away. Ford say it's by design and it happens every time the computer senses first gear and moving from a standstill when the air temp is above a certain value. I could understand if it happened with a large throttle opening or if the engine was under a heavy load but not every time.
