Strange black box on Nav screen

Anyone seen this before? Happened to me the other morning all the way to work, haven't seen it before or since.

(ignore the 'building media commands' which is perpetually there - it'll finish one day ... )

I had it once, except mine was red tinged instead of green.

I've seen this before and it generally goes away on its own. Yours looks like a NAV confirmation prompt got stuck on the screen. If it happens again, you can either wait it out or do a Master Reset:

MENU > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > MASTER RESET

Thanks Rebecca. Doing a Master Reset involves having to reprogram all my settings etc into the MFT so it's not the ideal solution. But the black box thing hasn't happened again, so I guess I'll just keep waiting for the "performance upgrade" ...

The moderators posted a Sticky over on the Ford Edge forums (I own an Edge).

Download the zip from here http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?sr=y&msg=3904.1&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb to a USB Flash drive, unzip the file and insert flash drive into the car. Noite, read the Readme which contains instructions for the procedure.

I just used the zip to reboot my system today. Note, after installing the software on your Ex remove the files on the flash drive and unzip the downloaded file again. Keep the flash drive in your glove box or center console in case you need to force a reboot.

Finally, I've never lost any of my presets using the downloaded file

BTW, I owned two Ex's in the past and loved both vehicles
