Hi

Some days ago i heard a strange noise coming from front wheels. It's like a metal-to-metal clink. And it only comes when i drive in bumpy road.

any ideas where or what i should look?

Could it be the dreaded "death clunk" ? :(

My explorer started doing this a couple months ago. I changed the tie rods out and it went away. Just search on here for how to do it. It was really easy (took about 30 min). Just be sure to get your exp. aligned right afterward.b

Thank you all..

I will look for the tie rods, when i find some free time.

ok!

I had to replace my front wheel bearings and the noise is gone.

I had the same clunk that seems to come from the steering column but its not the suspension.....what can it be ???
my bushings are used but all ok and no play in tie rod or other parts

I had clunk in the steering colum so i took all the wheel apart and there is like a lead damper thing in there thats on rubber mounts behing the horn contact pad and 2 of the 3 rubbers were dry rotted so i cut the last one and pulled the whole thing out and its good now... dont even know y it was in there in the first place try that
