Ok guys. I just replaced my heads and a couple lifters on one side. Now all of a sudden I have a strange noise when I step on the gas. At first I though it was lifters, but it's not a mettalic sound like lifters rattling. It sounds more like a fluttering sound. I was think by coincedence maybe i sprung in leak or a hole in a manifold or one of the headers. it sounds almost like it is coming from the drivers side. Also it didn't seem to start until after I replaced the tranny filter and fluid. Anyone got an educated guess on what it may be? i just spent $1250 getting heads and universals replaced, hate to tear the engine apart again.
Thanks!

Amigo!

I may finish lifting this baby someday if everything stops going bad on it.

does it miss?? Could it be an intake gasket or a manifold gasket??

I'm no mechanic, but I'd say it sounds like you are floating a valve or two. Are your rocker arms torqued down enough? You might want to check your valves.

it doesn't miss or anything. Seems to have about the same amount of power maybe a little less. It doesn't do it when the truck is idling or level out i speed going down the road, only when I accelerate. At first i though it was a lifter rattling, but doesn't have the same sound as the bad lifter I had before I replaced the heads. Sound more like a flutter than a metal rattle. Was thinking maybe it is an exhaust leak. Seems since the mechanic replaced the heads he has caused more problems than he fixed. First the ignition won't work and now this. Thanks for the ideas guys.
