Hi all my name is Derek, long time lurker first time poster. I have a 2000 explorer XLS 4.0l, about a month or 2 ago I replaced all four speakers and the head unit, after that the dash lights did not work, I chalked it up to the secondary harness with the single wire attached to it. So I pulled the unit out, cut off that harness, and attached it to the illumination negative coming from the new head unit, and voila the lights worked. Now I don't remember if it was immediately after, or a few days after, but I noticed the speedo not working. I checked fuse #7 on the interior panel and it didn't seem to be fried, so i went ahead and replaced the rear abs sensor/speed sensor that's on top of the rear diff. and still nothing I'm quite puzzled as where to go from here, should I try the front sensors? the ABS light isn't on so i don't see those being faulty.
