It just recently got cold here (about 40 when I started it up...cold for me, ok) and the engine made this terrible sound for about a second after the engine caught on and started running (not when the starter was engaged). It sounded metallic, like a crinkling springy noise.

Anyone have any ideas? is my truck about to explode?

Thanks all

could've been many things from something as simple as the starter solenoid sticking slightly to something complex like low oil pressure. It would have to be repetetive to know more information and diagnose it.
