now it is getting 911 for me, since this is my daily driver:
everytime I start the expl, (even if it was just off for a few secs or the whole night) it is stuck in 4x4. I can hear it and feels like it.
If I turn the switch to 4x4 Hi the light comes on, if I turn it back to Auto the light turns off, but 4x4 is still engaged.
I can turn to 4x4 lo and hear the low gear enaging and also back, so no shift motor problem (I would think)
After I drove it for a mile or so, the 4x4 lights start flashing 6 times and 4x4 disengages and I can't turn it back on.
What I did so far:
-cleaned the speed sensors in the T/C
-changed T/C fluid
-shift motor seems to work since I can shift into low gear
-took the batterie off for a while
I don't really wonna buy 2 new speed sensors if that isn't the problem and they aren't even looking bad or were dirty and a diagnosis at Ford is another $80!!!
So if anyone has ideas...
I know there are a few people with similar problems out there and there have been a few posts about it. But nothing really helped me. So please: (like in the Tacoma commercial with the hot chick and a tear on her face: "Will you help???")
I don't know what else to do and I really can't drive much longer with that. Especially since after you start a car you pretty much need to get it out off a parking spot etc. and that takes tight turns!!!
