Stuck In Low Range

a week ago I had to tow a car out of mud and I as per usual engaged low 4wd. Unfortunately it stayed in that gearing and now it won't change back. Any suggestions before I drive it 40km's in low range to find a repair place?

Unhook the battery for a bit, then try again, if not pull the shift motor and see if you can engage HIGH (it is marked) with some pliers. That might get you in.

Not sure if this will help but I use to have a Pathfinder with auto hubs and I used to have to back it up 10 feet to get it to disengage sometimes.

my sport does the same thing. i will pull it out of gear turn off the motor then turn it back on and back up about 20 to 30 feet and it will pop out a bit later. hope this helps.
