Well. tried changing my fuel filter on the 99 ford explorer from h$#@. Engine side came off smoothe with the tool. Gas tank side would not come off for anything. After 3 hours, the filter tube broke off inside the fuel line and now I'm stuck. No way to pull it out and the inside of the fuel line where the tube broke off looks like a mess with rust all around the tube. Any ideas? Do I have to replace the whole fuel line now? I'm hoping the flexble fuel line part is removeble but it's dark and I'm done at this point.....

Part numbers or where to go with this??? NO car and it sucks.....

Any help/ideas greatly appreciated......

Can you go to a auto bone yard?

side note: I hve a fuel filter in my garage waiting for me to change it. Maybe I'll leave the whole thing alone untill I have a fuel releated issue.

Bone yard is 30 miles away. Was hoping (well not hoping this on anyone) someone had gone through this headache and had a fix. Seems like the worst design/attachment in the world. I was looking at the Dorman fuel line fix kits but not sure if that would be a good permanent fix. Called local Napa shops and they say SOL.

And I would definately NOT do this job without the proper tools, time and patience..... I was lacking on the last two

Holy Batman!!!

Went out and got the cheap plastic Lisle Mod 37000 set and was able to pull the broken tube out without any effort. Just praying not as bad as I thought. Stay away from those metal ones - they suck major A$$!!!!
