stuck on my box...

a stereo amp that runs 2 ohms stereo will also run 4 ohms mono

it is adviseable to run the subs with the same exact current in a box like that with one chamber, but it can be done with most any amp.

btw- the rest of djalloids post was also pretty much awful advice

heh, my stereo amp (that im replacing with a mono) could run 1ohm mono (.5 stereo, but i never put it that low)

well i got my box back temperarily (not finished being preped or painted) but man its loud, even with the accidental 28hz tuned box.

as far as clarity goes, it hits every bass note possible in a cd (that ive tested thus far) and they are audible/feelable.

i think ive gone too far with this. i think ill down tune it to a nice audible volume instead of having it setup for loud and wreckless.

i also need to recheck the specs on my amp, im running the subs in parallel right now, and i think the impedance on the subs (which i have to check also) is lower than the amp can handle, but its handling it, and its handling it well.

ill take a picture when im go to Infineon race way to drag my Xplorer

Well the box is off to the paint shop after getting it back for a week to do the work myself (with help from my dad who taught me how to bondo during this project). Painting it is costing me around $300, this box costed me... $600-700, its a lot for something so small, makes me wish i would of gone with something simpler... but when its done ill be happy.

If theres paint left over ill have the shop paint some interior pieces, i think ill go to the shop tomorrow to see if they will do that

28hz tuning is right around where i prefer my boxes to be for daily driving...nice and deep

i bought the vynl to light for the box... oh well ill deal with it, its a lot lighter than i thought, i knew i should of taken one of the little plugs thats on the rear trim pieces

after a few months of waiting here it is. i still need to cover up some wires, along with buying some more ground and power wire off the internet (price and quality are really good from the site i get my wiring from). i get a little bit of alternator noise from the door speakers (not sure about the doors)

all i have to say is the setup was well worth the money, the amp for my doors makes the factory JBL components up front sound really good, i think im going to get JBL factory components for the rear also. its not what most people that spend a grip load on their amps would do, but quality wise they are outstanding to me and sound better than MB Quarts (in a different setup)...
