stuck!! trying to pull heads...

i cannot get the inside passanger side exhaust manifold bolt, not the bolts to the head, the 2 nuts that attatch the rest of the exhaust to the manifolds. its a 98 explorer 5.0 v8.
its killing me, whats the easiest way??

saws all. no joke either. if your taking off the head, just cut the bolts. when you have the manifold off, heat the end of it with a torch and loosen the bolts off.

i tried cutting the pipe itself with a sawsall, the blade kwpt binding up. do i cut it up bu where the exhaust meets the manifold?

cut the bolts that join the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifolds. there will be two on each side.

how do i get a sawzall blade to cut the inside bolt, i cant even get a socket over there, a blade does not fit

which motor do you have? your sig says sport, but you said in your post that you have a 5L?

its the 5.0 im pulling the heads from. i have a sport also daily driver

You may be able to get to the collector bolt from under the truck. I was able to get mine with some extensions chained together and a flexible joint socket. If you can heat up the bolt with a propane torch and get under it with a breaker bar you may have a chance.

I have gone the sawzall route in the past though. I was not able to get the threaded portion out of the collector though. I tried heating and getting at it with a vise grips but was not successful. The way I see to get it out would be to weld a nut onto the remaining a bolt so I can get it with a socket and bar.

i already tried the part with all the extensions under the truck. cant get it.. im going to try to cut it again
