Hey guys from florida, hope everyone in the north is surviving the cold. Little update, my last post I was having trouble with the truck not starting after hot. Well, after doing everything everyone suggested I can say it was never fixed, but, I drove it all the way from Michigan to Florida a month ago. We live in the Florida Keys, so for the last month I just start it up, drive five minutes to work, and home. Everything is within 10 mins. Over the last month I haven't had any issues, it works and drive so I will let it be for now.

I have a new serious issue and I am here for some help again. I have posted a video with the problem but pretty much in a nutshell the other night I drove home and when I parked I saw smoke coming up from the headlights. I popped open the hood and sure enough there was smoke coming from the engine. It wasn't too bad, light smoke but smells like burning oil...

Now, I have drove it the last few days on eggshells. Every time there is a little smoke and a burning smell. I need to know if I can keep driving it to work, or it's time to taxi and break out the Haynes manual again.

Where the spark plugs go in on the driver side, there what looks like the block comes together and there is a few bolts and the oil is leaking from there, see video. I am really starting to think the head gasket has blown but what else could it be?

Some clues.

The truck has super over heated a few times in the last few months.
When I start the truck, normally the engine cranks up over 2000 rpms, sometimes lately it seems like it barely starts. Doesn't go past 2000 rpms on startup and just seems to start and be right at 1000 rpm's. Idles rough and shakes(5-speed) at lights but it's all good. Yes I have changed fuel pump and filter and air flow parts.
The oil doesnt seem milky, yellow brown, just changed in michigan before driving south.
The radiator, it seems like there isnt any oil shine on top, but there is a very little blue oil streaks on top so maybe oil is leaking into the radiator? I have no idea.

Can I keep driving it? What is causing the oil to leak at this location. Should I change the gasket?

Thank you, and merry Christmas

i would do a compression test to verify the head or gasket hasn't let go.

Kind of hard to tell when the video is in vertical mode but there's oil on the valve cover so I'd start with tightening the bolts (10mm) on the valve cover and see what happens. Oils will creep, they're designed to have great surface tension and wicking properties, so it can be hard to figure out where a leak is coming from but usually the oil doesn't wick upwards.

Also, it sounds like you have a wicked vacuum leak. I remember mine sounded like that and the brake booster grommet was split several ways.
