Stump the Chump Question. Stalling after hot, driving me crazy.

Can someone please tell me where the CANP solenoid is and the Charcoal Canister?

Charcoal canister sits behind the driver's side headlight. I believe they moved it a little bit on 1993/1994 models. The solenoid on my 1991 is kind of leaning against the plastic inner fender on the driver's side. There's a vacuum line that goes from the canister, rearward to just behind the power steering pump, turns and snakes under the lower intake manifold a little bit to that nipple on the throttle body. I'm looking for pictures on my 1991 but I can't find any and it's too dark to get a proper picture.

I owe you, it's too dark or I would post some pictures. How would this affect my truck? I'm shocked because I thought I would see a lose hose hanging somewhere but it's just vanished.

It would affect it negatively. High idle, lower MPG, possibly odd running issues. If nothing else, wrap some tape around the nipple on the throttle body and look for a fix later. Without the charcoal canister, purge valve and proper setup, your gas can evaporate quicker.

I FOUND IT! Thanks man, if you really are in North Idaho, I fly fish Montana a lot, and if I am in your area I would love to buy you a beer. I'm in michigan, it is nasty and cold, I walked out with the flashlight and found the solenoid behind the headlight and followed the hose, and it was unattached and hidden behind some pipe, I just re attached it. I can't thank you guys enough.

Haha, glad to hear it! That's what we're all here for, to help each other :) I'm mostly glad to hear that someone before didn't gut the system and make a big headache for you.
