I installed fog lights in my X a couple months ago, and right now have them wired directly to the battery. I was thinking of possible ways to wire them to the ignition so I don't have to worry about accidentally leaving them on when I get out. I was wondering if I connected the hot wire coming from the relay to the switch to an ignition controlled fuse instead of the relay, if that would work. I am assuming that the hot lead to the switch always has power, and then when i turn the switch on, it completed the circuit, sending the power back to the relay signaling to turn the lights on. I don't know much about this though, so I could be wrong. Basically, I'm asking if I have one wire from ignition controlled fuse to switch, then other wire to relay, if this would accomplish what I want? Thanks for any help! :)

Ground always goes to ground. That said, you're using a switch to turn them on and off, but you want them to ALWAYS be off when the ignition is off, regardless of switch position ?

Then yes, wire the +12V from the switch to the fused headlight relay (or even to the stock headlight switch if you want). This way, when the headlights are off, the +12V wire going to the switch won't be live, therefore it won't matter which way the switch is flicked.

I hope that made sense, I have a headache and can't even type properly.
