How the heck do you get the cover off the factory installed sub in the back? It seems like it just snaps in but I can't see any easy way to get it off without breaking the plastic. Am I missing something here?

you have to take off the whole right panel

There's got to be some easier way to pop off that cover or something. Seems kind of ridiculus to have to take off the entire side panel to just get to where the sub is...

Nope you gotta take the whole panel out unless you want to break it off. Its easier with the panel off.

Just to clarify, I'm not just talking about the round part that covers the sub ( the plastic grille with the holes in it) I'm talking about the piece that covers the entire area where the cargo space would be. I tried to just pop it out with a screwdriver but some of the plastic started breaking. Are you guys talking about the whole back right side, i.e. the plastic piece that goes all the way up to where the back seatbelts attach to the frame?

yup

The reason you have to take the entire panel off is because Ford uses plastic locking tabs all the way around the sub that hold it to the side panel. I was able to remove my plastic pocket that I had instead of a sub without removing the panel but that was because I didn't know any better at the time. I pulled the panel away as much as I could and squeezed my arm in there with a very long screwdriver to pry each little plastic tab off. It took much longer and scraped up my arm a lot more than removing the panel. I spent probably 2 hours trying to get itout. I can pull the side panel off in about 30 minutes.

That's really lame, but thanks for clearing that up for me.
