sub install problem - April 2, 2004

Hey guys,
I have decided to re-install my sub in my explorer. It was originally in my 2003 Sport, but when I sold it, I took it out. Today I bought a new wire set (power wires and such) and I am followed my logical instructions.

Red Power Wire to Amp (inline fuse). Amp Grounded to floorboard (under rear seat/cargo flap thing). Audio cables from Head Unit to Amp. Speaker cables from amp to sub.

Am I missing something? When I turn on my radio, everything normal plays, but its like the amp isnt getting power? Is that a bad ground spot on the floor? Or what am I missing? Ive spent about an hour doing this, and Im scratching my head going "ummmm..." with a confused look on my face. I figured Id ask yall for help...

ya, you need to hook up your remote wire and check the ground wire, b/c sometimes its not quite touching the metal...

I blame this. You didn't mention it, so I think you over looked it.

In risk of being redundant... yeup, you gotta run that small 16ga wire from a switched source ~ amp turn on lead from the deck's wiring harness (blue wire) or the ign wire (red)

you guys hit it right on. Thanks to Explorer94GV who walked me thru it on AIM and answered all my dumb questions. Its up and running now. It only took what, 3 hours? shees, thats what it would've taken if I had gone to Best Buy anyways... stupid long lines and waiting areas haha. Thanks again guys.
