Ok so I have an interesting issue. I recently hooked up an alpine pdx m6 to an alpine swr1043 sub all run from a cda117 headunit. I hooked everything up and went to turn on the radio and no sound came from the sub. So i checked and everything was hooked up. I then plugged in an ipod to the rca jacks and sound came from the sub. When i reconnected my radio to the amp sound began to play from the sub but very very low. I am really at a loss. Also now one of my speakers always picks up some static that it did not previously.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the settings in your head unit first. See if the subwoofer output is turned on. If it is on check to make sure the subwoofer settings are set to the default settings then go and check the GAIN setting on your AMP. Check if its set correctly or turned up to where you want it.

As far as the static goes, I dont know if you have a amp driving your other speakers or just the factory/headunit amp, check and make sure your grounds are good and also check the speaker connection.

Hope this helps.

I had to pop happen with an old HU, went away when I changed it, but I've heard of loudness being turned way up to cause it, so I'd check that on the HU

thanks for the input. ill check that out as well. also heard it could be an rca cable being bad or grounding itself out. once the weather gets warmer (like 2 days) im gonna troubleshoot.

Pop when turning off vehicle

I had this problem with my 94 Sport whre the left front speaker would pop if I did not shut off the radio prior to turning off the ignition finally traced it down to a loose contact in the connector which had backed out of the harness. once it was pushed in properly the pop was gone.:us:

When most amps shut off they make a pop noise. Im not entirely sure why it happens, but I wouldn't worry about it. If it does bother you then look up a Phoenix Gold TDD5 It not only gets rid of amp pop by delaying turn on and off, it also allows you to run many remote turn on leads without wiring in a relay. I have it in my explorer and it works great, no more pop.

where did you buy yours from?

ive read about tons of different things to make the pop go away and am ready to try one lol. It really is annoying to hear after i shut the stereo off

I actually got all of my audio gear from my brother. When he sold his civic and got a ranger, he had no room. But I would try ebay
