Hey guys, once again, a pretty noob question, but I just can't figure out whats going on. This has nothing to do with car audio, but home audio, so it's all relative. I have a powered sub for my home theater system and I can't figure out what happened to it. I turn on the system and the sub rumbles for about a second then makes a popping sound, every single time. I had it out of the box and measured the AC voltage with a little rinky dink multimeter I have and it peaked about 3 volts, if I read it correctly, it flashed pretty quickly. If I recall correctly speakers use AC rather than DC, obviously due to its ability to translate electrical signals to sound better, but even when I don't have a speaker, even the satellites, plugged into the push terminals, I get no voltage reading at all. I also tried to take the resistance across the - and + terminals on the sub, which is supposed to be 8 ohm, and I got nothing. I'm trying to get better at using a multimeter, but with stuff like this, it's just discouraging. If anyone has any thoughts, they would be more than appreciated. Thanks in advance.
