do the TT and blocks... you can lower it anywhere from 0-4+ inches. if you search for "going for the gusto" there is a thread with an entire write up on how to do it. and it will only cost you like 50$ or however much lowering blocks cost.

The second pic is a pic of an Explorer that is bagged. That's pretty much as low as you can get an Explorer. The kit you want will only lower 2 inches, or about 4 if you flip the torsion setup.

Check out my "gusto" thread, and be prepaired for some reading. Read it all, and if you still have questions email me or one of the other guys that has "gone for the gusto."

(now that I think about it, I could have come up with a better name for that thing...and I would have if I had known it was going to get so big. oh well)

no, i have seen a exploder lower than that,

Yeah, with enough serious modification you can get one to sit on the ground. The one in the pic is bagged and it doesnt seem like kardinal wants to do that. I would say go for a 2-3" drop. That will get rid of the wheel gap and will be relatively cheap compared to bags. Mine is lowered just over 2" in the front and only 1" in the back because the back had the 'sag'.

98fordx24, that is one nice x you got there! while on the topic of lowering...i have a 2001 sport and it has the rear sag approx. 2 inches lower than the front i think. i would like to do the TT to the front just about 1.5 inches to even it out a little. what are the negative effects of doing this?

Thanks 2k1exsport.

Negative effects? Well, my ball joints are about to crap out. I dont know for sure that its from lowering tho. I think they were already on the way out before I did it. This friday I'm taking it to the shop to have them check out the alignment and camber along with the ball joints. The shop that I'm taking it to is the best front end shop around. I would have taken it to him for my alignment, but someone in his family died and he was closed for a long time. He looked at the camber kit that the other place installed and said that he had never seen anything like it so he doesnt think it was done right.

If you lower it 1.5" you might want to cut your bump stops a bit. I cut mine in half and I still occasionally hit them.

Other than that, you will get better handling out of lowering it and it will look GOOD too!!
