After finally deciding I would add a chip to mt 99 V6 SOHC, I have narrowed it down to Superchip.

After e mail correspondence with Superchip, they informed me that my CDE box "might" have to have a jumper wire installed ( and that not ALL CDE boxes required the jumper ).

My question to you guys is: have any of you had to add the jumper? Is it a difficult task?

Thanks…

After you purchase the Superchip and find out that it doesn't start might be a good indication that you may need the jumper wire installed. It's not difficult to do but unless you are skilled in using a soldering iron, I would let them (Superchip) do it. Mail it to them and they'll mail it back next day.

I have the superchip in my 99 sport sohc. It is great, definetly the best mod I have done. I did need a jumper. I got the chip, installed it, turned the key, and nothing happened. So I called superchips, sent it out next day air, the did it the day the recieved it and sent it back out next day air. Its really easy, but you wont be able to use your truck for about 3 days! I could have done it myself, but dont have much experience sodering so I didnt want to mess with my ecu, thats kinda important :-) If you do have to get it and decide to send it out, you will have it back by 10 am 2 days after you send it out. You do have to pay shipping there, but they pay shipping coming back. Hope this helped.
