superlift kit

hey guys just a quick question...

does anyone know if the "9638" front kit is everything thats needed to lift the front from this page- http://www.superlift.com/Catalog.asp?P=K495

i remember reading some confusion about this on here before....

from what i remember when i got my kit the front box kit did infact come with everything needed except for the shocks

I've been doing alot of snooping around for a (suspension)lift kit. I've found ones for $700 to $2,500. I plan on on putting it on myself so no need for the extra cost a shop would pilage me on. So my question is. Do I get what I pay for in terms of quality?

ramren- roughly how much did u pay for your front box kit? i called my local 4x4 shop and they were unsure if i needed both front box kits

there is only 2 real suspension lift kits for our explorers/tracs the one you have in that link will not work for our front ends superlift($1500-$2000ish)best, and trailmaster($1000-$1500ish)not as good poor design, there are a couple other kits out there but they are hard to find because they are discountued and they are more expensive, and of course there is the tt with shackles for $80.
mikechek- back when i bought the kit 7 years ago the kits where way cheaper but i think it was around $600 for the front box kit

if you look on superlifts website there are 2 kits for the front both are the same except one comes with the 4 shocks
front box kit 9637-$623-59
front box kit w/shocks 9638- $1280.54
this is a huge difference in price if i were you just get the front box kit not the one with shocks. they are trying to charge you over $600 for 4 shock and superlift shocks are junk you can find cheaper and better shock on your own

ok ramren thx, that was my exact thoughts about the price difference for the shocks, sounded very steep

I'm pretty sure the Trailmaster kit is discontinued too.
As far as I know, there are only two lift kits...Superlift for about $2000 and Dixon Brothers long-travel setup for about $4500. And for the Dixon Brothers kit you need to add wider fiberglass fenders plus paint.
