Im having problems with my 95 Explorer almost everytime you start it it wants to die then the RPM'S raise and its fine but it seems like it surges abit when idleing. It has 120K on it I bought it when it had 107K The spark plug n wires look like the just been replaced. I replaced the PCV valve new air filter new fuel filter new Idle air control cleaned the maf sensor Im not forsure if the o2 sensor's have been replaced or not. And when I was going to the smokey mountain's last weekend I was goin down a big hill and I kicked the OD button off and within 5 miles still going down it the CE light came on so I turned it back on when I got down the hill and it went off and it has not came back on I tryed to take it to auto zone to see what the code was but there reader would not read it because it wasnt compatiable.

Any suggestions?

You must check the codes :) This will most likely point you to the problem.
I am going to say we need to look at the torque on the lower intake manifold bolts (they are notorious for vacuum leaks)
Also check fuel pressure, look for vacuum leaks, reset the computer, check the fuel pump fuse and relay (the relays in the power dist box are problemmatic)

How many miles are on this truck?

Most '95's are still EEC-IV (have heard of a few '95 EEC-V's but they seem to be uncommon). EEC-IV codes can be pulled with nothing more than a paper clip. See tests at www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html
