I want to improve the ride quality and handling on my 99 mountaineer. as of right now i plan on getting some new shocks and bushings. is this what i should do? If yes, what type of schocks should i get? I am thinking about lowering it 2 inches in a few months. if i do that will i need a different shock than i would with my stock setup? thanks a lot , and sorry for all the posts.

Whats up man,

If you plan on lowering your truck and changing the shocks and bushings and ect.. I would say maybe to look into an Explorer Express Handling Kit that they sell www.explorerexpress.com

You can run your truck without drop shocks but I do reccomend a drop shock like Doestch Tech or the Edelbrock IAS to improve ride quality. Also if you plan on dropping it you are going to have to get some blocks for the back and loosen the torsion bolts, After this you will need adjustable camber eccentrics And a good alignment to correct any negative camber.

I hope i helped

i looked at the X Suspension at explorer express. why is that when i took all the parts and added their parts up seperatley i came up with a number that is less than what it costs as a package? shouldnt their be some sort of discount for buying it all?

The price of the kit vs. buying everything separately was discussed in another thread. They come out to be within a few cents of each other I think.

Rear Swaybar = $179.95
Swaybar Bushings = $39.95
Lowering Kit = $169.95
Shocks = $69.95 x (4) = 279.80
Suspension Bumpers = $89.95
