Hello all:
I have been considering doing some work to my suspension. My truck has quite a few miles and not much suspension wise has been replaced (other than shocks). I'm thinking about shackles/TT/AAL so I can clear some bigger tires but I want to improve performance and response as well. I'm pretty sure I should replace control arms/ball joints...what else?

My truck has a nasty creaking sound when I go over speed bumps. It is somewhere in the IFS, I'm thinking control arms/ ball joints? I've seen some coil-overs that I think would be awesome if they're not too expensive.

My question is: Where's a good place to start replacing/rebuilding suspension components for a truck with 200k+?

I would replace everything from the control arms and bushings outward. Then I would replace all the sway bar bushings and links. For the rear, you are pretty well limited to springs and bushings. Shocks of course.

Thanks Cobra,
Anyone in so cal looking to brush up on suspension skills? I'll trade some beer, help, whatever.
