Hi all,
I've been lurking for awhile on this forum and learned alot but have run into a little dilema that could use some expert advice from forum folks.
I have a 98 Explorer Sport 4x4 with the 4.0 SOHC engine. I bought the truck new and even today the body and interior are near mint with only a few scrathes. The problem is I have wracked up about 125k miles on her with little problem. NO problem with the engine or transmission to date.
Abot 15k miles ago I had the upper arms replaced and now it looks like the bottoms ( read ball joints only) need to be done as well. Plus the folks at Ford are telling me the front inner hub seal needs replacing.
So my issue is as follows:
Do I spend the $600 for Ford to basically bring me back to stock or do I purchase a SuperLift suspension kit for this truck and upgrade it front and back? Money is not the issue here, just time and effort.
If I go SuperLift, who has the best price and what else should be replaced while I have it apart?
I love this little truck and it has been good to me over all but I want to make the right choice by listening to other members....
Also, has anyone ever replaced the inner hub seal. Hard or easy?
