Swapping for Factory Nav Expl 06Eddie Bauer

This is my 1st post to this site. I have been reading the posts and have found that there are some really knowledgeable people posting to here. My question is I just purchased a 06 Eddie Bauer V8 with MultiDisc CD player and full controls on the steering wheel. If I were to change it out for a Factory Nav system how hard would it be? Is it a plug & play or would I have to rewire anything. What else do I need to know? Thanks For your assistance.

I have the same stock setup and changed to a Ford Nav unit. Everything was plug-n-play. I didn't have to reprogram the radio. I'm not sure about the satellite radio though.

If I were to change it out for a Factory Nav system how hard would it be? Only took me about 30 minutes! (Make sure you remove any cd's from your old radio!)

What else do I need to know? Check the diagnostic screen on the nav radio once installed to see if the unit has been programmed to accept steering wheel controls if yours don't work after the swap.

It's really quite easy. Enjoy your nav!

How much ($$) are you finding the nav units for now? My 6CD is dead so looking at options.

Cost of Nav System

I have been looking on E-Bay and it seems that the ones I have found range from $406 and up to 1000.00. Be careful and ask questions. I lot do not include the Disc or antenna. I havn't got one yet but I will keep looking. Good Luck:
