SYNC 3.4 Most recent version?

Automatic updates via WiFi did not work for me, seemed to get the spinning wheel forever, gave up and downloaded the files from the Ford Sync Updates site. You can download it a number of times as the first 2 times I could not Unstuff the files on my Mac. Stuffit Expander is not part of the Apple OS system, unlike what the Ford website indicates.

I think TBill is right about the + sign being new new. Don't remember seeing it before. It's located in the upper left corner of the camera view.

You can go back and re-download the updated package. That should have it now.

I just downloaded the files and was curious if the file structure is correct. I do not see the SyncMyRide folder, per se, but just the name of the folder. For example, SyncMyRide\5...4G381-ED.tar.gz and four more with the same naming structure. Did this download correctly?

That's what my download on the Mac looked like and I attempted the update. I got a failure notice. I then downloaded it on a PC and it ended up with 3 files that I copied to my flash drive, here is what I used for the update:

Yep, looks fine. On OS X it's best to use the StuffIt tool from my experience. I always got LST errors when I used the other utilities.

Thanks. I did just that. Just waiting for an opportunity to take a 30 minute or so drive in order to install it in my vehicle.

Since it’s only really the two main packages it should be done in ~15 minutes. You can just do it in accessory mode.

Something new I discovered today, when you press the menu button on the heat/AC controls the "dual" setting is gone, can't turn off the dual setting from that menu any longer. Does any one know how to turn off the dual controls? Since my wife likes her side set to cremate reading through the owners manual, if you press the "auto" button on the heat/ac controls for 2+ seconds it turns off the dual controls.

Only the Dual button? I thought that's on the main Climate screen, upper right. Haven't used that screen in ages, so I could certainly be wrong.

Yeah, site it still down / not serving updates. I think the CL update for NA was OK last I checked. If so, you're already on the latest release. No idea why they went with 3.4.43 for the name vs 3.4.20136. Easier to digest I guess? Only reason you'd need to pull that is if you wanted to run the XML generation tool at the end and report back to Ford that you updated.

On the ford pass app we should be able to see the current version of Sync, I mean since it alerts me I have an update and all.

No idea. I don’t think it communicates that info back via the modem, so if it used what was in the system it could be wrong. You’ll need to check the about screen.

1: Why if I put the ST in Eco mode does it not stay in Eco mode when I shut the car off?
2: Why does changing driving modes take so damn long, heck with ADHD sometimes it goes away before I notice it finally changed or popped up to change

Drive Modes
NORMAL

For everyday driving. This mode is a perfect balance of excitement, comfort and convenience. This is the default mode after each ignition cycle.

I can't help you with your second question.

I downloaded the update on a PC, since I had trouble with it on my Mac, been an Apple user since 1985!. Installed update today, appears there are some new features like a + sign on backup camera when in reverse, it provides an enlarged view of what is directly behind the vehicle, when you press the + sign.

It is described on page 241 of the Manual, Parking Aids section, under Manual Zoom. I had it in my 2011 Limited as well.
