What is the purpose of this feature?

Can you set a reminder for yourself, or somehow tranfer your Google calendar appointments/tasks to the SYNC system?

Conside this .. You are in the frigid winter of Alaska, just coming back from that long fishing trip, driving back home. Days are short and nights are long ... You suddenly wonder what date it is Monday or Tuesday?... Of course, you have the phone that has bluetooth and can smoothly sync with MFT, but alas, it does not have a calendar, or maybe that functionality is broken ... Unfortunately, you check your watch only to realize that it is one of those slim dials which does not have a date on it. Just time ... so is it 7 in the morning or 7 at night? Quick thinking ... what could you do ... viola! the Sync calendar to the rescue ... especially useful since its anyway dark mostly in Winter so the on-board clock becing a couple of hours off shouldn't matter.

In all honesty, I have no clue why its there. Only reason could be to remind of scheduled maintenance. Why time was spent on this and sync apps instead of a stable, fast MFT is beyond me.

I think this assumes that you can somehow "enter" a scheduled maintenance reminder on the calendar. So far...I have no idea how to do that.

My money is that its a left over unfinished feature that they planned bigger uses for and then realized that it was more trouble than what it was worth.

Sometimes pulling code out of a product is risky so it's sometimes better just to leave it in.

I just did an interactive session at sync. My calendar shows April 1, 2031. He said that if I upgrade to version 2.11, it will fix the problem. I will probably hold off for awhile.

Pretty useless in my opinion since you can't enter anything on it. Agree there was probably a grander plan that fell through due to $$$$$$

My 2008 Taurus X had the calendar too. It is handy if you want figure out what day of the week a certain date is.

There is a button in the upper right hand corner that says "go to today".

Mine was like yours before the upgrade. Since the upgrade, it comes up on today's date.
